Friday, December 21. 2007Part One: A 5-year Old Asks a Gambling Question Phrased in an Amusing Way My friend Siegfred hosts his own gambling party every time his wife is away on a business conference abroad. Which reads- because the wife is a world-renowned consultant in tax accounts- every weekend, literally every Saturday or Sunday night. They have this very cute 5-year old daughter by the name of Lindsay (NOT Lohan), and well, since I and Siegfred are decades-long friends, she considers me as a sort of a relative". Last week during his extraordinarily big gambling-cum-party, I was seated right there watching a rerun of an ugly wrestling match- all alone at the den- when Lindsay Lohan (ehr..just my imagination), Lindsay the daughter of Siegfred came in and asked, "Busts are supposed to be another form of calling the breast part right?". I was both amused and shocked in equal measure, and it took me a full 2 minutes before I could speak up. "Well, busts have various meanings sweetheart, but yes, that is another term for it...WHY DO YOU ASK?". Well, you have to know this, during gambling action, Siegfred allows his daughter to roam around and watch, but of course, he would not allow Lindsay to gamble, lest she beats the poker veterans. In the same breath, any guest who stops and invites/teaches his daughter to gamble would be kicked out of the door faster than Superman flies during an emergency at the North Pole. Wednesday, December 19. 2007Spanish 21 "Spanish How many?"- was the first question that a friend of mine threw at me when I first mentioned this months ago, when we were having coffee at Starbucks.
